User talk:Awdietrich
Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Awdietrich! I am Smartse and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. Thank you for your contributions. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions check out Wikipedia:Questions, or feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or type {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. Again, welcome!

License tagging for File:Alexpic.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Alexpic.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:08, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Online Mentor
[edit]Hi there Awdietrich! I've just jumped in and become your online mentor, so hello! I'm not sure how everyone else is doing the mentoring, but I'd say it's a fairly individual matter anyway, so we should do it how we like. Therefore, I was wondering if you could tell me what you'd expect from a mentor? I'm happy to provide as much or as little support as you need, you are always welcome to ask me questions or for a third opinion (There's no such thing as a stupid question - if you are unsure, ask!) and I'll keep a regular eye on your contributions in case I pick up any areas where I think you could do with a little help.
- Just as an addendum, I see you are very new to wikipedia, so I thought I'd give you a hand on sending me messages. You have a few options
- You can leave a message on this page. I will be watching it and will reply within 24 hours.
- You can click on my signature where it says Worm. This will take you directly to my talk page, where you can edit a section to leave me a message. Besides email, this will be the fastest way to contact me, as the bright orange bar I get (you might have noticed it, for this message) will alert me. (During UK office hours, it might even be faster than email!)
- You can start a new section on my talk page, either directly from my talk page or using this link
- You can email me using this link
- So you can do whichever you find easiest for you. Also, I've added a template on your userpage, which has some quick links. (Hopefully I've got the right course!). If you ever need them, just click on your name at the top of the screen, and it will jump you there. WormTT 10:35, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Suggestions
[edit]Hi all! Just finished reading your Tiered Services bit below and I've got to say it's very good! Well done. I do have a couple of suggestions though.
- It might be good to move the work off this page to User:Awdietrich/sandbox. The idea of a talk page is to allow people to leave Awdietrich messages of note to him, he'll get an orange bar at the top of his screen every time someone makes a change. The sandbox allows you to work on the article without bother.
- Since wikipedia is an international encyclopedia, be careful of using American terms. If you are introducing a concept, link it to its related article. For example, in Britain, a wireless service doesn't mean much - wireless can mean an old fashioned radio or a wireless internet connection, but would not have anything to do with TV. In fact, it seems counterintuitive to me that a wireless service provides cable television.
- Have a look at the last two sentences re: BT. I'm pretty sure they can be better written so you don't start a sentence with "Meaning"
Hope that helps a bit, but you're doing a great job! WormTT 09:35, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Talkback
[edit]Message added 09:30, 21 March 2011 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
I've left some feedback on this page. WormTT · (talk) 09:30, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- Re moving - I've found a solution, but you'll have to let me know when you want it done (User talk:Awdietrich/sandbox) :) WormTT · (talk) 20:27, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
